Moody Center sits on the UT campus at the north edge of downtown, about a mile and a half from our lot at 7th and Nueces. Nobody should walk that in a Texas evening in show clothes, so this guide is not going to tell you to. What it will tell you is why a lot of people who have done a few arena nights stop parking next to the arena.
The problem with parking next to an arena
When a sold-out show ends, everyone leaves at once. The garages closest to the venue fill first on the way in and empty last on the way out, onto the same few streets at the same moment. You can spend as long getting out of a garage as you spent watching the encore. On a campus, you are also parking on somebody else's rules and event pricing.
The plan: park once, ride up, come back on your own clock
- Park at 715 Nueces. The gate is open 24 hours, and a daily ticket includes in and out.
- Get dinner or a drink on West 6th first. It starts one block from our gate.
- Ride up to the show by rideshare or bus, or ask us ahead of time about a pedicab from the lot.
- After the show, ride back downtown and drive home once the traffic around campus has cleared.
A pedicab from the lot
If you would rather not deal with a rideshare surge on the way up, we can help arrange a pedicab from the lot to the venue. It is one way only, lot to show, and it is arranged ahead of time, not waiting at the gate. Call or send us the show, the date and the number of riders, and we will tell you what we can do.

Two stretches are worth a plan. Crossroads fills the arena two nights running on the same weekend as the Tribune Festival downtown and a Saturday morning Texas away game on the West 6th screens. Kacey Musgraves plays two midweek nights in the middle of ACL week, when downtown hotels are full and rideshare is already busy.
Moody Center or the Moody Theater?
They are two different buildings, and people mix them up every week. Moody Center is the arena on campus. ACL Live at the Moody Theater is the downtown venue on Willie Nelson Boulevard, and that one is about a ten minute walk from our gate. Check your ticket before you plan the ride.

Posted rates are starting prices and are subject to change. During citywide events (SXSW, ACL, F1, UT football, and Capitol session weekends) rates may increase. We post current pricing at the lot entrance and on this page.
