A short walk, on flat sidewalk
715 Nueces sits about a seven minute walk from the Texas Capitol grounds, straight along Nueces and 11th, with no hill worth mentioning. Whether you are here for a single tour or every weekday of a legislative session, that walk is the whole pitch.
If you are visiting
For a tour, a public hearing or a one-off trip to the Capitol, park by the hour or by the day, whichever fits. Posted rates are $15 per hour, $25 for up to 4 hours, $35 for up to 8 hours, or $50 all day. Pay at the kiosk on the lot with a card or a tap, no app or account required. Accessible spaces sit closest to the entrance, and the gate is self-serve and open 24 hours, so an early tour or a hearing that runs late is not a problem.
If you work the session
The 90th Texas Legislature convenes Tuesday, January 12, 2027. The Texas Constitution sets the start at the second Tuesday in January of an odd-numbered year and caps a regular session at 140 calendar days, which puts the session running from January into late May. That is months of weekday demand landing a few blocks from our gate, from staffers, lobbyists, agency staff and anyone else whose workday starts at the Capitol.
140 days from January 12 lands on May 31, 2027, and that is the constitutional ceiling rather than a promise. A session can adjourn sine die earlier if the Legislature votes to. It cannot run longer.
What that means for a staffer's parking
Our Weekday plan is built for exactly this kind of schedule: $225 per month for guaranteed access to the lot, not a specific space, Monday through Friday, 7 AM to 7 PM. A few reasons it fits a session schedule specifically:
- It is a fixed weekday commute for the length of the session, which is exactly what the plan covers.
- The gate is self-serve and open 24 hours, so a long committee day that runs past 7 PM does not lock you out on the way back to the car.
- On-lot coffee is there on the way in, most mornings.
- It is run by the same family that signs the lease, answers the phone and knows the regulars by name, which matters when your schedule changes week to week the way a session's does.
If session runs into a weekend or an evening hearing
Committee hearings and floor sessions do not always stay inside business hours. Our All Access plan, $375 per month, covers every day, all day, including nights, weekends and any event day, if the Weekday plan's hours do not match how your week actually runs.
Session weekends are one of the windows where downtown rates can move. Current pricing is always on the rates page.
Posted rates are starting prices and are subject to change. During citywide events (SXSW, ACL, F1, UT football, and Capitol session weekends) rates may increase. We post current pricing at the lot entrance and on this page.
